"Connections" 2009
"Connections" 2009 is a continuation of the series "Reconstructions" 2006 which consisted of oil paintings, photography as well as objects of glass and plexi, which shared a common reference to Villa Massimo in Laterano in Rome.
The series quotes from the villa's architectural elements, geometric forms, lines as well as its play with light.
"Connections" has as its objective to create an abstract, sensitive and meditative experience of space as it relates to time. The series consists of oil paintings where inner space as well as the experience of actual physical space merges in the surface of the painting. The paintings are reconstructions of three-dimensional experiences translated to the paintings two-dimensional surface through the use of texture and color. By allowing visual memory to be refl ected in the treatment of the surface and the shifting of the colors, the paintings themselves become "memory sticks" which stimulate reminiscence.
Fascination with the possibilities of oil painting and a passion for the processes involved in creating them, is the force behind the work,
- but love is predominant.

"Connections" 2009 er en fortsettelse av "Reconstructions" serien fra 2006, som besto av en serie malerier, foto og objekter i glass og plexi med referanse til Villa Massimo i Laterano i Roma.
Serien refererte til villaens konkrete arkitektoniske elementer og formale geometriske former, linjer og lys opplevelser.
I "Connections" er fokuset igjen å gjengi en abstrakt, sanselig og meditativ opplevelse av rom relatert til tid. Serien består av oljemalerier hvor rom på det indre plan og minner fra det konkrete fysiske plan nedtegnes i maleriets overfl ate. Maleriene er en rekonstruksjon av tredimensjonale opplevelser overført til maleriets todimensjonale overfl ate uttrykt i malerienes strukturer og koloritt. Ved å åpne opp for visuelle refl eksjoner i bearbeiding av billedflaten og i leken med fargene fremstår maleriene som "memory sticks", som stimulerer til gjenkjennelse.
Fasinasjonen av oljemaleriets iboende kraft og den lidenskapelige prosessen er drivkraften bak arbeidene,
- men størst av alt er kjærligheten.
